In field, fast and highly accurate soil measurement

Soil Data

Reduce input costs and risks by working with what is actually in your soil. We measure multiple soil health indicators in a single pass. This provides a robust baseline and enables ongoing monitoring over time to understand what your soil needs and where it needs it.

Real-time soil intelligence

During a single pass, we measure five key soil indicators simultaneously. Results are immediately processed and visualised within your data portal, allowing you to understand what is happening in your soil. This supports more targeted management decisions, reduces input costs and risks, and improves yields and long term resilience.

How does it work?

The process is simple and fast

Fast and furiously accurate

What MRI did for medicine, MINS does for soil

Planning

Before our operator starts scanning, a GPS-tracked path is defined within the field boundaries. This ensures full traceability and repeatability. The same measurement path can be used at a later stage to compare actual changes in soil.

Measuring

To measure the field, the operator drives the measurement unit on the planned path. This unit uses Mobile Inelastic Neutron Scattering technology to activate soil elements and capture their unique responses. Compare it with ‘an X-ray of the soil’.

Analysing

While measurements are taken continuously, data is grouped and transmitted to the cloud every 30 seconds for analysis. Near real time data processing allows results to be reviewed quickly, enabling faster insights and decision making.

Visualising

Once scanning is complete, soil data is automatically transformed into digital maps and reports in your secure data portal. They can be integrated into precision farming equipment or used as zoning maps to support targeted soil management decisions.

With one scan, we collect data on five different soil characteristics

5-in-1 Measurement

1

Carbon

Soil carbon drives soil fertility, structure, and resilience by supporting nutrient cycling, water retention, and biological activity.

2

Moisture

Soil moisture plays a critical role in crop growth, root function, and yield by influencing water availability, and nutrient uptake.

3

Chlorine

Chlorine contributes to plant water regulation and disease resistance. However, excess levels can negatively affect crop performance and productivity.

4

Iron

Iron is essential for chlorophyll production and photosynthesis, directly affecting plant growth and colour.

5

Silicon

Silicon strengthens plant cell walls, improving resistance to drought, pests, disease, and environmental stress.
