Co-Innovation for Agriculture with IICA

On June 17th, a CAS delegation joined the AmericasAg Forum organised by Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) in Canada. Firstly CAS presented how they empower farmers with soil data and carbon credits. Then, CAS signed an agreement to co-innovate for agriculture with IICA.

In the margins of the G7 in Canada, the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) convened a 2-day event bringing together all critical actors in the agriculture space. The next decade will be critical for agriculture, claimed the organisation, hence while the world leaders discuss the world’s most pressing issues at the G7 top, the agricultural ecosystem gathers to discuss and solve the most pressing farming issues. CAS delivered a presentation on how it empowers farmers, after which they signed a formal collaboration agreement: to co-innovate for agriculture with IICA.

Empowering farmers

From soil mapping to carbon credits, CAS’ core mission has always been to empower farmers. CAS discussed together with one of its farmers how that precisely works and how we can innovate and collaborate to enable the future of agriculture. Watch the full recording.

At the end of the event, Carbon Asset Solutions and the Inter-American Institute For Cooperation on Agriculture (Washington) signed a milestone agreement. To empower the future of agriculture, they agreed to

🫶 By generating high-integrity carbon credits, which can be used to offset IICA’s travel to the COP. In addition, they can enhance the financial sustainability of farmers’ practice changes.
